Bake It! Prick the skin and bake at 400 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes (or until tender).
Steam It! Bring 1 1/2 inches of water to a boil in a steamer. Place whole, unpeeled Sweet Potatoes in a steam basket and steam until tender (40 to 50 minutes for an 8 oz. Sweet Potato). When peeled and cut into 1 inch cubes, they will cook in about 30 minutes.
Boil It! Place whole Sweet Potatoes in boiling water and cook 35 to 45 minutes, depending on size.
Microwave It! Prick the skin and microwave on high power (4 to 6 minutes for an 8 oz. Sweet Potato.)
Fry It! Peel and cut Sweet Potatoes into lengthwise strips about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Add to oil that is 365 degrees (hotter oil will ruin it). Fry until brown and tender. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Fresh! Sweet Potato sticks - peel and cut into sticks and dip into your favorite dip.
Top it! Try these great toppings for your Sweet Potato: salsa and crumbled corn chips; cinnamon flavored applesauce; vanilla flavored yogurt and cinnamon sugar; warm nacho cheese topping
